The City of Hillsdale’s Public Service Department will collect discarded natural Christmas Trees for recycling again this year. The trees will be chipped and used as mulch around trees in city parks and cemeteries, as well as being accessible to Hillsdale residents. No artificial trees will be accepted. The city requires that all plastic covers, decorations and tree stands be removed prior to placement at the curb. The following schedule is tentative due to the possibility of severe weather conditions.

Hillsdale City Clerk Parke Hayes announced that as there is a vacancy for the Ward One Council seat held by Mayor Doug Moon, a City election will be held on February 23, 2010 to fill that vacant council seat.

It’s leaf collection time! And once again the Hillsdale Public Services Department will be collecting leaves from all city streets. The City has been divided into 4 sections (based on ward numbers) with each being assigned a specific collection period.

For your convenience, we have installed a drop box outside the main entrance to City Hall. You can use this for payment of taxes or other City bills (excluding BPU payments) outside of normal business hours.
