Recurring Inspection Information
Information concerning the property maintenance inspections (for either Real Estate Transfers or Rental Occupancy Change Inspections) is available at the following links:

Residential Real Estate Transfers and Rental Occupancy Changes:

Residential Use and Occupancy permits are valid for two years from the date of issuance and can remain in effect after that date, until a change in occupancy occurs. At the change in occupancy, a new Use and Occupancy permit must be obtained.

Commercial/Industrial Change in Use or Occupancy:

A Commercial Use and Occupancy permit is required upon any change in use or occupancy in any non-residential space

Complaints Concerning Specific Violations of City Ordinances:
Our office follows up with citizen complaints concerning violations of City Ordinances relating to property offenses:

  • Dilapidated, vacant structures
  • Excessive accumulation of trash/debris within a property
  • Insufficient maintenance of basic living conditions within rental units
  • Insufficient maintenance of the exterior of structure or property
  • Snow accumulation on sidewalks
  • Improper placement of signage, including Yard Sale signs
  • Tall grass and weeds
  • Brush, grass clipping placed within the public Right of Way
  • And similar issues
