Recurring Inspection Information
Information concerning the property maintenance inspections (for
either Real Estate Transfers or Rental Occupancy Change

Residential Real Estate Transfers and Rental Occupancy
Changes:
Residential Use and Occupancy permits are valid for two years
from the date of issuance and can remain in effect after that date,
until a change in occupancy occurs. At the change in occupancy, a
new Use and Occupancy permit must be obtained.
Commercial/Industrial Change in Use or
Occupancy:
A Commercial Use and Occupancy permit is required upon any
change in use or occupancy in any non-residential space
Complaints Concerning Specific Violations of City
Ordinances:
Our office follows up with citizen complaints concerning violations
of City Ordinances relating to property offenses:
- Dilapidated, vacant structures
- Excessive accumulation of trash/debris within a property
- Insufficient maintenance of basic living conditions within
rental units
- Insufficient maintenance of the exterior of structure or
property
- Snow accumulation on sidewalks
- Improper placement of signage, including Yard Sale signs
- Tall grass and weeds
- Brush, grass clipping placed within the public Right of
Way
- And similar issues
